A new sports and community centre brings movement, children's play and social life together in one lively public space that can be used all year round.
The Skalka under the Arches design creates a multifunctional site dominated by a sports pitch covered by a striking structure of timber arches. The roof extends the ways the pitch can be used and allows it to change from a sports ground into a space for an open-air cinema, cultural events, social gatherings or community activities. The site also includes an adventure playground shaped as a natural play landscape, a running loop, seating areas and refreshment facilities. By combining sport, play, relaxation and community life, a new village centre emerges for all generations.
